APPLICATIONS OF SOLAR ROAD STUDS  | I. FOGGY CONDITIONS : The problem with reflective road studs in fog is that of diminishing light levels reaching the stud and being reflected back to the driver. This is due to the diffusing and refracting effect of the fog on vehicle headlights. As SRS is a self sustained unit and is not dependent on vehicle headlights to function, they offer 10 times greater visibility than conventional reflective products. |  | II. PEDESTRIAN / TRAFFIC CROSSING : SRS can be placed along the full length of the crossing and, optionally, along the center line of the approaching road. This would warn the motorists of the approaching traffic signal / pedestrian crossing, and hence avoid fatal accidents. |   | III.HIGH ACCIDENT PRONE AREAS : Mountain Road : SRS is most suitable on mountain roads, as it enhances the visibility of sharp turns and blind curves as compared to the reflective road studs. Dark Rural Country Roads : SRS eliminates the need for expensive street lighting on dark rural roads, while maintaining safe driving conditions as well.
